Data & business intelligence, built on the Microsoft stack

Most organisations don't have a data problem. They have a trust problem — reports that disagree with each other, numbers nobody can explain, and dashboards people quietly stop opening.

I build the foundations that fix that. I've specialised in Microsoft data and business intelligence since the early 2000s — across the full SQL Server toolset and now Azure — designing solutions that give organisations a single, reliable version of the truth. Whether your data lives on-premises, in the cloud, or both, three things sit at the core of what I do.

The three cornerstones

01

Data warehouse design and build

Dimensional data warehouses built on Kimball methodology — the reliable foundation everything else depends on.

On-premises: SQL Server  ·  Cloud: Azure SQL Database

02

ETL and data integration

Moving data reliably from your source systems into one trustworthy place — including from third-party platforms and APIs.

On-premises: SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS)  ·  Cloud: Azure Data Factory, Power Automate

03

Reporting and visualisation

Turning that data into reports and dashboards people actually rely on — including paginated reports and row-level security.

Reporting: Power BI, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)  ·  Models: SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS), Azure Analysis Services

I've led delivery as Technical Team Leader on large-scale projects — including a team of ten on a nationwide data migration — and worked under UK government security clearance (SC) and NPPV Level 3 vetting. Clients have included IBM, the Home Office, Lloyds Banking Group, Shawbrook Bank, the Ministry of Defence, the NHS and Sheffield Hallam University.
